An arts society has celebrated its 50th anniversary by working with students to design a sundial.

The society in Moor Park, which brings together people who share a curiosity of art, teamed up with pupils from Bishop Ramsey School, Ruislip, to create a sundial which has been donated to Moor Park Golf Club and placed at the base of the flag pole.

The voluntary guides of the society conduct summer tours of Moor Park Mansion to reveal the history and architecture of the building, which is also the clubhouse for the golf club.

Amy Yeates, CEO of Moor Park Golf Club said: “We are delighted that such an important piece of celebratory work can be displayed at the club. We have a very special relationship with The Arts Society Moor Park and appreciate the many hours the students have put in to design and create the sundial, which is now in its permanent home.

“I only joined the club in the summer and the society tour of Moor Park Mansion was a high priority for me. I would encourage anyone to attend one of these tours when they commence again in April to discover the grandeur of this historic Grade I listed building. I am sure many residents would be blown away by the history that is sitting on their doorstep.”
