An elderly woman is in hospital with "serious injuries" after she was hit by a car earlier today.
Police say a woman aged in her 80s was struck by a dark blue Fiat 500 in Oxhey Road close to the junction of Eastbury Road in Watford just before 5pm.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Oxhey Road was shut for much of the evening but has reopened again.
Police are appealing for witnesses and believe the area was busy at the time.
Sergeant Sam Cordingly from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road policing unit said: "The collision happened during rush hour and I believe that a number of motorists would have been queueing at nearby traffic lights and may have seen what happened."
Anyone with any information or dash-cam footage should call 101 quoting ISR 552 of November 27, as soon as possible.
