A Holby City star has opened a new charity café in Watford over the weekend.

The actress, who plays Jac Naylor in the soap, opened Cotton Tail’s Café, based at the National Animal Welfare Trust on Sunday at their annual Christmas Fayre.

The café has been opened in the hope that it will drive more visitors to the charity on the A41, which specialises in rescuing and rehoming unwanted and abandoned pets.

Centre manager of the trust, Jackie de Friez said: “It was great to have Rosie with us on Sunday.

“Despite the wet weather we had a good turnout and we’re thrilled that the café will now be open every day from 11am.”

Rosie attended the Christmas Fayre to help promote the animals looking for homes, donated Holby City items for their online auction and helped raised almost £4,500 on the day.

She said: “Opening the cafe was really good fun, it was great to see the animals and the NAWT is such a great cause to support.”
