People have contributed their time to a festive market at a closed down school.The Rudolf Steiner School in Langley Hill, Kings Langley, has hosted the Christmas Market on December 2.

The school which has been closed since the summer was decorated in a festive spirit and seasonal food was on offer for attendees.

A spokesperson for the market said: “Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the great success of the Christmas Market at the Kings Langley on December 2.

“The number of visitors by far exceeded our expectations.

“Everyone clearly enjoyed gathering in the beautifully decorated rooms, eating the variety of delicious food on offer, listening to the first class singing of carols in the dining room and browsing and buying quality items at a wonderful selection of stalls.”

Past pupils were also present at the market, a brother and sister from Germany had been guest students at the school 10 and 13 years ago.

They have since become fluent in English and one of them now teaches at a university.

A spokesperson said: “We are coming to terms with the recent closure; seeing so many happy faces at the Christmas Market was all the more wonderful.”
