Works to repair and restore a bridge will start next week.
Over the River Gade in Cassiobury Park, Watford Borough Council will start restoration work on the Rustic Bridge on January 14.
The bridge – located near the Langley Way entrance – will be refurbished over the next four weeks, whilst structural repairs and new surfacing takes place.
The picnic area near the bridge will be closed during this time but there will still be public access across the bridge.
This work is part of the continuation of the Cassiobury Restoration Project through the £4.95million awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The project aims to restore surviving historic features and recreate features of the picturesque parkland.
The restorations has enabled people who live, work and visit Watford to reconnect with their past and their local environment by creating a walk back in time.
