Two people have been sentenced to a total of 12 years in prison after being found guilty of firearms and drugs offences.

Following a trial at Inner London Crown Court, Elijah Bigby, 32 of Wentworth Road, Barnet was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment after he was convicted of possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of criminal property, receiving stolen goods and cultivation of cannabis.

Dhonna Campbell-Grant 30, of Allen Edwards Drive, Lambeth was sentenced to five years' imprisonment for possession of a firearm, possession of criminal property and cultivation of cannabis.

She was found not guilty of possession of ammunition.

On July 31 the Met’s Trident and Area Command executed a firearms warrant at Campbell-Grant’s address.

During the search, police found a converted Zoraki handgun with six rounds of blank ammunition, 8mm French Ordnance live ammunition and £1960 in cash.

The flat’s spare room was found to contain a cannabis factory, with 16 mature cannabis plants valued at £3,760 as well as grow tents, timers and a ventilation system.

Campbell-Grant was arrested at the scene and later charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, cultivation of cannabis and possession of criminal property.

On October 8, officers arrested Bigby at his home address.

During a search of the property, a mobile phone Bigby used to communicate with Campbell-Grant was recovered along with a car key to a 2017 Nissan Qashqai that had been reported stolen in July.

The investigation revealed that Bigby had been seen driving the stolen car and that his DNA was on the gun seized from his property.

Mobile phone examinations also revealed Campbell-Grant and Bigby were texting each other about the cannabis being grown at her flat.

The pair pleaded guilty to cannabis cultivation and not guilty to all other offences.

Detective Constable Mike Fishlock, from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command, said: "I am extremely pleased that my team were able to remove a firearm, drugs and cash from London’s streets that were linked to organised violent gang crime.

“This sentencing shows we are determined to prosecute those who carry out this type of criminal behaviour and we hope it acts as a deterrent to anyone else considering getting involved in this type of activity.”
