The works started on Monday (February 25) and will continue until April 18.

While the main car park will not be operational through-out this period, temporary parking facilities will be available inside the park next to the car park entrance, with 40 spaces available.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said: “I often speak to residents who have not been able to find a space in the car park at Cassiobury Park.

“With a record number of visitors to the park last year, I am pleased that we are going to extend and improve the car park to make it easier for visitors and take the pressure off nearby roads.

“We will also be doubling the number of disabled parking bays and putting in electric vehicle charging points.

“However, I do appreciate in the short term that there will be a disruption for residents while work on this takes place.

“I'd like to thank residents for their patience and hope they appreciate it when it is finished in time for the busy summer months.”

The works being done in Cassiobury Park

While the works go on, there will be a temporary decrease in car parking spaces.

To get around this, the council is encouraging people to take other modes of transport to Cassiobury Park, especially at weekends when the car park is normally full.
