A man was found seriously injured and police believe he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency services were called to Reeds Crescent, near Watford Junction, shortly after 7pm last night. Paramedics attended and a road closure was put in place to allow them to see to the victim.
Police say the man, who is aged in his 50s, has injuries which point towards being hit by a vehicle.
When police arrived, the vehicle involved was not at the scene.
The injured man was taken to Watford General Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police are carrying out enquiries into the incident and are urging anyone who has not spoken to officers, who may have information, to get in touch. Call 101 if you do have information that could help with the investigation.
