People can have their say over an “upgrade” to St Albans Road which has already received financial backing from the mayor.

The Elected Mayor of Watford has committed £400,000 to improvements to the Callowland stretch of the road.

The improvements include the planting of new trees, improved pavements, increased parking spaces and safer pedestrian crossings.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate and Callowland Councillor Ian Stotesbury said: “New paving, trees, improved guard rails and a consistent style along the road would make the street more welcoming.

“With some extra parking bays, seating and planting we could transform the area.

“We're drafting a scheme to put to residents and business and in the meantime, we want your ideas and views on the priorities.”
