A “shop worker” was punched in the face when he tried to stop a thief.
Hertfordshire Constabulary are investigating a theft and assault at Tesco Express in Katherine Place, Abbots Langley, just after 7.45pm yesterday.
A group of people were asked to leave the shop before a girl stole a bottle of Prosecco.
A man in his 20s was then punched in the jaw by another member of the group when he challenged the girl.
A witness on Facebook said the victim worked at the shop.
No arrests have been made.
