A few days ago as I crossed Market Street in Watford a bus was waiting for the bollards to operate so that the driver could continue with his journey.
More buses joined the queue and I counted 12 as far as I could see. It was an hour before the problem was solved. Was your bus late? Did you miss an important meeting?
Why do we need these bollards? The council says it is to stop unauthorised vehicles using the road from Beechen Grove. What is the cost of these installations, including running costs and damage to buses that can’t cross in time?
How about a large notice at the beginning of Beechen Grove that states unauthorised vehicles will be charged £100. Security cameras would catch the offenders and the council would pocket a tidy sum each year.
