On Thursday, March 21, many supporters of Watford FC attempted to buy FA Cup Semi-Final tickets via the club ticket office and website but the service offered by Ticketmaster and the club on the day was simply unacceptable.

They were trying to sell a maximum of 33,000 tickets yet the computer and telephone systems could not cope with the number of applications.

I personally spent over six hours trying to purchase four tickets and there were numerous other stories on social media of credit cards being rejected for no reason or supporters being allocated tickets, only for the computer system to crash.

Ticketmaster are charging £2.40 per ticket as an administration fee, which equals £79,200 if Watford sell their allocation.

I propose that Ticketmaster and Watford FC make a donation of £40,000 each to the Watford Peace Hospice as a gesture of goodwill to apologise for the unacceptable level of service that was offered in this instance.
