Driving past Oxhey Park on Eastbury Road last Saturday afternoon (March 30), I was horrified to see people with children picking the daffodils - obviously to give to mum on Mother’s Day.
The daffodils in the park are for everyone to look at and enjoy they are not there because people are too lazy or mean to go to the supermarket where they can buy a bunch for £1.
But is this how parents teach their children? That it’s ok to steal the flowers from the park?
Oxhey Park is beautifully looked after by Sandy Bell and a small group of volunteers and for this effort the park has been awarded a green flag.
There should be a sign saying “picking the flowers is stealing and those caught will be prosecuted”.
