A community came together at the weekend to clean their streets of litter and rubbish as part of a wider campaign.
The Kingswood Residents’ Association in Watford organised the clean-up to tie in with the Great British Spring Clean.
Volunteers were joined by councillors and were rewarded later with tea, coffee, and cake – although some were in a hurry with a trip to Wembley awaiting later that day.
By the end, the group had collected around a dozen bags worth of rubbish meaning the estate looks a whole lot tidier.
Watford borough councillor, Cllr Tim Williams, said: “We had a very successful litter clean in Kingswood very well supported by the residents with about 30-40 people attending, and with many of them then rushing off for the football at Wembley including myself.
“It’s great how the Kingswood Residents come together for this event and that it’s tied in with the Great British Spring Clean month run by Keep Britain Tidy. Whilst the amount of litter collected highlights the residents’ hard work, it’s such a shame that people do not dispose of their rubbish responsibly in the first place.”
