A community group has celebrated a record number of litter pickers helping to clean up an estate.
Members of the Meriden Residents Association used equipment donated by Veolia to take part in Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean.
Around 27 volunteers, young and old, patrolled Meriden Park collecting bags of recycling and general waste with double the number of helpers than the previous year.
Watford Community Housing filmed the event and one young boy said: “Can we do it again next week?”
Easter bonnet winners
The group then supported the Random Café at the Meriden Community Centre during a lunch hour and held an Easter bonnet competition where children presented colourful hats.
Four young winners won a soft toy and Easter egg.
The Meriden Residents Association thanked the Random Café for hosting them, and John and Sarah from Martin's, the Co-op and ASDA for donating Easter eggs.
The group will be taking their annual trip to Southend on August 3.
