A police officer suffered broken ribs after she was hit by tiles which were being thrown off a roof.
Police were called to reports of a man on a roof at an address in West Valley Road, Apsley, at around 7pm last night.
During the incident, roof tiles were being hurled and one policewoman was struck. Police say she sustained fractured ribs.
A police negotiator was called in to help bring the man down safely.
Three hours after police were initially called, the man moved onto the roof of a neighbouring property, before he climbed down.
Once on the ground, he ran off, but was later found by police.
• A 29-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He remains in police custody at this time.
