A beer festival and fun day raised £1,300 for Peace Hospice Care. Brewfest, the third edition of the Oxhey Village beer festival, has raised £1300 for Watford’s Peace Hospice Care.
Brewfest, held on April 13 this year, took place at the Villiers Arms and Rifle Volunteer pubs in the heart of Oxhey Village.
More than 750 people of all ages enjoyed the family event sampling face-painting, live trad jazz, an open mic, artisan pizza from the Village Kitchen, a quiz, a raffle and karaoke.
There were more than 20 casked beers and ales available to try, including from Oxhey Village Brewery who won a third place.
Organiser, Chris Newstead, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many people come out to support their local pubs and BrewFest. Everyone is delighted to have raised so much money for the hospice, which means so much to so many local people. We’re already planning for next year!”
Simon Jacques from Oxhey Village Brewery added: “Brewfest goes from strength to strength and coming in third place with our Three Point Eight session ale topped off a brilliant day.”
The festival was the third Brewfest to take place in Oxhey.
