Armed police have left Whippendell Road after they shut off part of the street this evening.
At least eight armed officers were at the scene in West Watford after being called between 5pm and 5.30pm.

Nine police vehicles as well as unarmed vehicles were gathered in the street.
A police helicopter was also hovering over west Watford.
Police have not yet confirmed the reason they were at the scene.
Their presence centred on an address at a parade of shops between Harwoods Road and Southsea Avenue.
Armed officers were visible in the street and a police dog was also at the scene.
Meamwhile, at least six armed officers were inside a property in Whippendell Road - searching inside for something or someone.
Passers-by say officers were at the scene for around an hour.
Armed police left the scene at about 6.35pm and the cordon was lifted.
A small police presence remains in the area.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has been approached for further information on the incident.
