I’m always surprised that so few people have visited the Houses of Parliament, and that many people don’t realise it’s somewhere that you can actually look around. It’s such an important part of our heritage and history, and so I always encourage people in our community to do so. This is why I arrange frequent tours with people from Watford so that they can visit the home of our democracy and see where all the action happens.

On the evening of Thursday, July 18, I’m running a large tour for local residents to come and look round Parliament after hours. This will include a Q&A session to start with so that we can discuss important local, national and international issues of the day, as well as me explaining what’s been taking place in the Commons that week. I then lead a guided tour of all parts of Parliament, including the House of Commons Chamber and voting lobbies, as well as the House of Lords and the Royal rooms.

This is always a great evening and I encourage people of all ages to come along.

I still have some places left on my next tour, on Thursday July 18, and have arranged a coach to leave from ASDA Garston at 5pm to take residents to and from Parliament. If you’d be interested in coming along, please get in touch by emailing richard@richardharrington.org.uk or call on 01923 296790.

I look forward to seeing you there!
