An emergency road closure has been extended for at least another week.
Affinity Water is currently repairing a water main in Watford Road, between Elstree and Bushey.
An initial date of today (July 16) was given but this has been prolonged to July 24.
The closure has led to delays in Elstree Hill while motorists have reportedly been stuck in queues of "more than an hour" leaving Centennial Park at the bottom of the village.
Affinity Water says it is aware of the traffic the closure is causing and is considering a solution to the gridlock at the roundabout.
When Watford Road was shut last year, UK Power Networks put up signs warning drivers not to block the exit to Centennial Park.
