North Weald Library and the North Weald Bassett Parish Council office will be closed today to repair a leak in the building’s roof.

The office on High Road, North Weald, was forced to close at 12.30pm on Friday, July 19, after the water gradually became heavier.

Parish council staff moved shelves and books to prevent further damage to the interior of the building and to allow Mitie engineers to attend the premises and prevent further flooding.

Roofers are expected on site today to fix the hole and the library and parish council office to reopen in due course.
