More than 20 new sites have been put forward for development by landowners and developers.

Hertsmere Borough Council has released a list of new sites which could be used for housing and employment as part of the borough's local plan.

These new sites are in addition to more than 30 sites which were put forward last year across Borehamwood, Bushey, Potters Bar, and villages within Hertsmere.

It is part of government targets to build more housing.

People now have an opportunity to make any comments on the latest sites put forward.

These sites are:

  • Land adjoining Fenny Slade, Potters Bar, residential, estimated capacity for 60 homes
  • Birchville Cottage, Bushey, residential, estimated capacity for 15 homes
  • Land adjacent to Lissmirane Industrial Estate, Elstree, mixed use, estimated capacity for 145 homes
  • Land east of St Albans Road, South Mimms, residential, estimated capacity for 40 homes
  • Land at Greenacres, Bushey residential, estimated capacity for 30 homes
  • Allum Lane South, Borehamwood and Elstree, residential, estimated capacity for 50 homes
  • Land rear of Kendal Hall Farm, Radlett, rdential, estimated capacity for 135 homes
  • 26 Woodhall Lane, Shenley, residential, estimated capacity for 25 homes
  • Little Simpsons, Letchmore Heath residential, estimated capacity for 15 homes
  • Melbury Stables, Bushey residential, estimated capacity for 20 homes
  • Land at Woodcock Hill Village Green, Borehamwood and Elstree residential, estimated capacity for 105 homes
  • Norwegian Barn, Elstree, residential, estimated capacity for 50 homes
  • Oakfield Close, Potters Bar residential, estimated capacity for 15 homes
  • Land west of Borehamwood (Radlett Park Golf Club), Borehamwood and Elstree, residential, estimated capacity for 830 homes
  • Land South of Rectory Farm, Shenley residential, estimated capacity for 140 homes
  • Land South of Greyhound Lane, South Mimms, residential, estimated capacity for 275 homes
  • Former day centre Grosvenor Road, residential, estimated capacity for 19 homes
  • Tarmac Land South of M25, London Colney – Site A, Employment development
  • Tarmac Land South of M25, London Colney – Site A, Employment development (b)
  • Costco, Hartspring Lane, Employment development
  • Land to the South East of Costco, North Western Avenue, Employment development
  • Bushey Hall Farm Site, Bushey Mill Lane, mixed use estimated capacity for 290 homes

Hertsmere Borough Council is stressing that no decisions have been made about which pieces of land will be developed and not all land put forward will be selected.

The council will choose suitable sites next spring where another round of consultation will follow.
