The Salvation Army in Watford is calling on local older people to join them in some summer fun by holidaying at home.

‘All Aboard!’ is the theme of the three consecutive days of events and activities for the over 60s held at The Salvation Army Hall at 376a St Albans Road, Watford. There are still a few places left for the non-residential ‘holiday’ running from 13-15 August.

Captain Mark Scoulding, The Salvation Army’s leader in Watford, said: “Older people in Watford will be able to enjoy all the benefits of a holiday without needing to pack a suitcase. We will share friendship, fun and food in a warm and relaxed environment.

“Each day will include activities linked to our ‘All Aboard’ theme - including visits from a jazz pianist and a magician as well as crafts, a murder mystery game and a special gala lunch! A main meal will be served at lunchtime each day and we will share morning and afternoon tea. There will also be plenty it time to chat and relax and make new friends - the only problem is that we can’t guarantee sunshine!”

To find out more, or to reserve your place, contact 01923 801169 or watford@salvationarmy.org.uk.

The cost to take part in ‘All Aboard!’ is £22 for all three days, or £9 per day, and includes absolutely all activities, lunches and refreshments.
