CONTROVERSIAL plans to knock down buildings and build 10 new warehouse units are well underway - and this is how the new development will look.

The multi-million pound redevelopment is being carried out at the former Verco office furniture site - despite objection from nearby Sands residents. Developers say the demolition of the existing buildings on the brownfield site has finished - and construction work on the new warehouses has just started.

Called 40:40 Link, the development comprises three steel framed buildings which will be sub-divided to create 10 units and the project is expected to be finished in early 2020.

Developers Chancerygate says an existing waterway, which is culverted and runs through the site into a tributary of the River Wye, will be “naturalised” to create habitat for wildlife - and will involve excavating and forming a new riverbed.

Matthew Storr, project manager at Chancerygate, said: “We have already received significant interest in and around High Wycombe and now construction has begun we look forward to further enquiries. We often secure pre-lets and sales on developments such as 40:40 Link, because we offer occupiers high-quality accommodation.”
