Following the success of her last two tours, much-loved comedian, author and campaigner Ruby Wax is back for a third round, and on the 16th of September she’ll be making a stop at the Alban Arena.

Based on her bestselling novel, How To Be Human: The Manual, the show covers just about anything and everything. Covered topics include evolution, thoughts, emotions, the body, addictions, relationships, kids, the future and compassion.

An overarching theme in this show is what makes us human and that even if nearly every part of our body became robotic, we would still have our minds. And that is they key to happiness, so long as we use our minds for things like compassion, rather than just chasing what’s better.

The second half of the show will feature two exciting guest stars, a neuroscientist and a monk. Dr Ash Ranpura has been researching the brain for over 25 years. He has addressed audiences ranging from the American Medical Association to the British Army, and now he is coming to St Albans to explain where everything that makes us ‘us’ can be found in the brain.

Gelong Thubten was ordained as a Buddhist monk at the age of 21, and now teaches mindfulness and meditation across the world. He has taken his teachings to businesses such as Google, to hospitals, schools, universities, prisons, rehab centres and very soon St Albans to tell us how the mind works.
