Thousands of pupils will be receiving their GCSE results today.
  • Around one in five GCSE entries are expected to score one of the top three grades this year following the launch of the tough new GCSE courses.
  • And just a tiny fraction of teenagers is likely to walk away with a clean sweep of 9s.
  • Education Secretary Gavin Williamson wished students "all the very best" saying results day "marks the culmination of years of hard work".
  • We will be updating this live blog with reaction and photos as pupils in south Hertfordshire and north London collect their results.
  • Schools and parents are encouraged to get in touch if they would like to share their pupils' or their child's results. Email ann.yip@newsquest.co.uk
