A teenage boy was caught on CCTV showing off a machete concealed inside his bag.

Footage caught the boy, who was with a friend, in a car park off Cecil Street, North Watford, on Monday morning.

The young boy, who can be clearly seen on camera and is wearing jogging bottoms and a coat, looks around before pulling a large knife from a blue bag which he is carrying over his shoulder.

He then puts the knife back in the bag, gets on a blue bike, and rides off.

Police say they are aware of the footage.

A spokesperson said: "Hertfordshire Constabulary are aware of a video circulating on social media which appears to show a teenage boy in possession of a knife in Cecil Street, Watford. "Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace the boy and recover the weapon.

"We ask that people refrain from sharing the footage as this may impede any future judicial proceedings.
