Five blocks of suspected amphetamine was found after police searched a van which was parked up in a street.

The van was spotted in St Michael's Drive, off Sheepcot Lane, at around 6pm on September 20.

Inside the van was suspected amphetamine with an estimated weight of 10kg.

Police later carried out a search of the suspect's address in Surrey and they found £61,000 in cash.

DS Ian Siggery, from the Watford local crime unit, said: "We are committed to tackling those who attempt to bring drugs into Hertfordshire and will relentlessly pursue those suspected of doing so.

"As part of the on-going fight against drugs supply we need local communities to work with us by reporting suspected drugs dealers and criminal behaviour so that we can take the appropriate action."

  • Clive Latter, 60, of Addlestone, Surrey, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, possession of false identity documents with improper intention, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of criminal property.

He is currently remanded in custody, and due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Monday October 21.
