A horse that was found in a ditch has been rescued by firefighters.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue were called at 4.16pm on Saturday, October 19, following a report that the horse had been trapped in a ditch in Smallford Lane, St Albans.
A crew from St Albans as well as the Animal Rescue Team from Hatfield fire station attended.

A vet was also in attendance to help successfully rescue the horse.
It is unclear how long the horse was trapped in the ditch for and if it had suffered any injuries following the incident.
