A bus shelter has been destroyed after a lorry crashed into it last night.
Police say the "large" lorry reversed into the bus shelter in Harefield Road, Rickmansworth around 6.30pm on Friday, October 25.
Pictures show the bus shelter, which is near to Rickmansworth Aquadrome, collapsed to the ground with metal bars hanging at an angle on the pavement.
Jonathan Gibbs, 53, lives opposite the bus shelter. He said: “I was just sitting down when I heard a massive crash outside.
“I ran out and saw the lorry had gone into the bus shelter.

“Fortunately, no one was there when it happened.”
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed that there were no injuries following the incident.
Mr Gibbs said he alerted police as soon as he had seen what had happened.
He added the driver had stopped at the scene and was “shocked” following the incident.

Mr Gibbs continued: “This is an area that a little earlier would have been busy with families on half term.
“Luckily the area wasn’t populated when this happened.”
Both the R1 and R2 buses stop at the bus shelter, which sits at the junction of Frogmoor Lane and Harefield Road.
It is not yet clear when the wreckage will be cleared.
