Bellway's apartment block will range from six storeys facing the River Colne to 11 storeys facing Thomas Sawyer Way.

The homes will be a mix of one, two, and three-bed apartments, with 33 designated as affordable housing. Homes will go on sale next year.

Altogether, the phase in the Waterside area of Riverwell comprises of 408 apartments across three blocks.

The development of Waterside will also see the creation of a riverfront park for the public to enjoy, with access via footbridges to Colne Island.

Greg Allsop, sales and marketing director for Bellway North London, said: "With contracts now exchanged on the land at Riverwell we are looking forward to starting construction work on site here.

"According to Rightmove, 42 per cent of Londoners are looking to buy outside of London, and Watford is currently the number one choice.

"Riverwell, with its new homes, alongside shops, employment and leisure space, will be a great place for commuters to live."
