For the past two years, stars from the Kings Langley Players (KLP) have won awards for their performances in the group’s annual pantomime. The KLP has seen both Sophie Palumbo and Sean Lovell scoop the National Operatic & Dramatic Association’s Nigel Gravette Award for Best Performance in a Pantomime in their London district.

Palumbo played Aladdin last time around, while in 2018, Lovell turned in a prize-winning performance as Simple Simon in Jack and the Beanstalk, which also won the district’s It’s Behind You award for Best Pantomime.

Now the Players will be looking to make it three in a row with this year’s upcoming production, Cinderella.

With a script packed with laughter, magic and true love, the KLP will put their unique spin on the classic fairytale about Cinders, who cannot go to the ball. However, with the help of her Fairy Godmother, the most exciting night of her life can begin.

The KLP will perform five shows from Thursday, January 9, to Saturday, January 11.

Rebecca Davey, directing her third KLP panto, says: “Will Cinders find her Prince or will her ugly stepsisters get in the way? There will be songs, dances and lots of laughter. Oh, and plenty of sparkles.”
