GAS from a butane cannister caused a flash fire in parked car in Cleckheaton.
Two people were in the Peugeot 206 Cabriolet on Smithies Lane using the butane to refill a cigarette lighter.
One of the occupants then lit a cigarette which ignited gas that had escaped into the vehicle.
Firefighters from Cleckheaton fire station were called out to attend the incident at 12.31pm.
The fire was out when they arrived and a male was being treated by ambulance paramedics for flash burns.
The fire crew made the vehicle safe and a fire investigator determined the cause of the incident.
