TWO men have been arrested after police found cash and cannabis in a stopped car on the motorway.

Officers stopped and searched an Audi A3 which was travelling eastbound on the M4 near junction 15 around 3pm on Saturday.

The police had stopped the car because they suspected that the male driver was driving under the influence.

Both men inside the car were from the South Wales area and were arrested after the car was searched and cannabis and a large sum of money were found.

The driver, 24, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, money laundering and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

He has since been released under investigation.

The passenger, 23, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and money laundering.

He has been given an adult caution for the possession of cannabis offence and was then released under investigation for the other two suspected offences.
