It has been more than five years in the making, but the UK will soon formally leave the EU, and here are the types of events taking place near you.

Whether you voted to remain or leave, the conclusion of the 2016 EU Referendum is finally coming to an end tomorrow (January 31).

In Watford, there are no highly publicised Brexit Day events, nor is Watford Borough Council hosting an event.

But here are some celebrations and protests within reachable distance in Hertfordshire and London.

Royston Club, St Albans

12 College Rd, St Albans AL1 5ND

If you want something in Hertfordshire, Royston Social Club in College Road will be holding a ‘Brexit Celebration Disco’ which promises to feature British classics throughout the night, promising a finale of songs like Jerusalem, Land of Hope & Glory, Bless Em All, Lambeth Walk and more.

The event on Friday will begin from 8pm.

Wetherspoons (any branch)

Starting from tomorrow (January 31) until February 29, ten drinks will have a reduced price of around 60p off.

The discounted drinks will represent each country it originates from.

Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin is offering this discount for people to celebrate Brexit but also “remain friends with our European neighbours”.

The “Let’s stay friends” deal will be available in all the 870 Wetherspoons branches.

Brexit Celebration, Parliament Square

Parliament Square, Westminster

What will most likely be the biggest Brexit celebration of the day, there will be a free ‘Leave Means Leave’ party starting from 9pm to 11pm.

Led by the Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, the event is expected to have music, waving union flags and various speakers like Ann Widdecombe, Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin, Julia Hartley-Brewer and more.

Pro-EU parade from Downing Street

Downing Street, London

For those opposing Brexit, there will be a march organised by NE4EU. From 2.30pm on Brexit Day, there will be a procession from Downing Street to the European Commission in St John Smith Square, central London.

The group will meet at Richmond Terrace opposite Downing Street from 2.30pm.

Downing Street Clock

Downing Street, Westminster

At Downing Street, a light display and projected countdown clock from 10pm will illustrate the UK’s last moments as a member of the EU.

Mayor of London’s ‘We are all Londoners’, City Hall

City Hall, The Queen's Walk, London SE1 2AA

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will be welcoming European Londoners to a free event in City Hall to receive free advice on the EU Settlement Scheme from immigration lawyers.

At the event there will also be free emotional support.

The event will take place at the City Hall between 5pm and 8pm with a first come first serve basis.

So what will you be doing to mark the day the UK leaves the European Union?
