Plans submitted to open a high-class fish restaurant on a business premises have received no objection by Epping Town councillors.
Alec Smith, the former owner of Smith's restaurant in Ongar, is set to open a similar restaurant on the ground floor of Revival Court, on the site of the Half Moon pub in Epping High Street.
Details of the 65-seater ground-floor eatery submitted to Epping Forest District Council includes revolving glass doors and adjacent access doors for wheelchair users.
Proposals also include to open the restaurant seven days a week, employing ten full-time and five part-time staff.

Documents submitted with the application state: "Mr Alec Smith is the applicant and proposed owner and was also the owner of Smith's restaurant in Ongar and also Alec's restaurant in Navestockside, Brentwood, both of which have now been sold and this restaurant will be run by him in the same manner and to the same exacting high standards."
Epping Town Council planning committee was told that restaurant use has already been approved and the planning application under consideration at their meeting on Monday, February 10.
