An ambulance has been involved in a crash on a the A1 today.
The A1 remains very slow northbound between Borehamwood and the M25 junction following the collision earlier this afternoon.
It's believed two vehicles are involved - an ambulance which ended up crashing into the central reservation, and a car which saw its front end completely wrecked.
It is not known if the ambulance was on an emergency call at the time.
A photo taken by as passer-by shows emergency services at the scene, including a fire crew, and highway officers.
Traffic remains very slow past the scene - with queues tailing back towards Stirling Corner.
Rowley Lane, just off the A1, is also busy as drivers seek alternative routes to avoid the queues on the A1.
