Young Hertfordshire footballers are looking the part on the pitch after they were gifted some new warm-up tops.

Volunteer-run Belstone FC, based in Radlett, is an adult and junior football club catering for both boys and girls.

Last year, a Go Fund Me page was launched to help raise money for a new lawnmower and ground maintenance equipment, to help the club survive, and more than £2,000 has been raised.

Now, the club has received a little more help from a housebuilder.

Taylor Wimpey North Thames has given £250 to the club to fund new warm up tops for the club’s under-10s team.

Darren Harris, manager of the U10s team, said: "We are extremely grateful for the support we’ve received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

"The new warm up tops look absolutely brilliant, and the team can’t wait to show them off. On behalf of everyone at Belstone Football Club, I would like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey."

Nikki Gibson, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: "We were delighted to be able to support Belstone Football Club with a donation towards the under-10s’ new warm up tops.

"Being able to back local organisations that surround our developments means a lot to us and it’s great to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in local communities.

"We can’t wait to see the team in their new warm up tops and we wish them the best for the upcoming season."
