So once again the spectre of the Croxley Rail link raises its head (Mayor ‘resurrects’ Met Line proposal, Watford Observer, February 21).
The Mayor of Watford calls for the Government to take a fresh look with all the usual soundbites, such as to make Watford a vibrant and thriving town. But will it? Isn’t it already?

It’s hard to see how the people of Watford will benefit from the scheme which also entails the closure of Watford Met station - a hub for at least three residential areas - the Cassiobury, Cassio Metro, and West Watford communities.
Any scheme has to at least add to what is already there, not take away from it or it will be a case of two steps forward, three steps back.
