Congratulations to Stacey Stephenson on winning our competition to design a poster showing support for the NHS.

Watford’s MP Dean Russell teamed up with the Watford Observer to hold the competition to celebrate NHS doctors, nurses and other working to save lives and care for the sick during the coronavirus crisis.

Mr Russell chose the 11-year-old’s painting as the winner and said: “I am so grateful to everybody that took the time to submit their artwork, all of the entries were fantastic and it was really hard to pick a winner.

“I felt that Stacey’s artwork in particular captured our appreciation of key workers perfectly. I look forward to seeing Stacey's poster in windows across Watford.”

Stacey and her family, who live in Watford, are now set to have dinner at parliament as part of her prize.

Mr Russell, who is an artist in his spare time and has had drawings signed by four Prime Ministers auctioned for good causes, also congratulated all those who entered.

He said: “When I teamed up with the Watford Observer for the competition I knew it would be a tough task to pick the best one.

“Every person who entered is very talented and clearly passionate about art.

“They all did a fantastic job at showing appreciation for our NHS and key workers. Well done to each and every one of you.”
