The driver who died in a collision along the M25 near Theydon Bois was a 39-year-old man from Kent, police have revealed.

Police were called to a crash between junctions 28 and 27 at about 8.10pm on June 16.

The driver died at the scene of his injuries.

A passenger in the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for a number of hours as police carried out enquiries.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “Our investigation into the collision along the M25 near Theydon Bois at around 8.10pm on Tuesday, June 16, is ongoing.

“We were called with reports that a Silver Ford Focus had collided with the central reservation before leaving the road between junctions 28 and 27.

“Sadly, the driver a 39-year old man from Kent, died at the scene.

“We are appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to call our Serious Collision Investigations Unit on 101 quoting incident 1142 of 16/06.

“Alternatively, you can report information by visiting www.essex.police.uk or you call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
