A police officer has been charged following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
PC Stephen Dalton, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, has been charged with actual bodily harm (ABH).
The charge relates to an incident in Watford on October 4 2019, where a man sustained injuries to his face following his arrest.
The IOPC's investigation was completed in February and the evidence was referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), which has made the decision to charge PC Dalton.
The first hearing will be held at St Albans Magistrates Court today (June 23).
