A NEW podcast exploring the best of Sussex business has launched.

Chalk was due to take place this spring as a conference for Eastbourne business leaders.

But due to the coronavirus pandemic it has shifted online, launching as an online newsletter and an online radio show in a bid to change perceptions of Eastbourne.

The first series of Chalk Talks begins this month and includes interviews with the minds behind the Towner gallery and The English Soap Company.

Host Gerry James, marketing chief at software firm Switchplane, hopes the show will attract entrepreneurs to Eastbourne.

“Recruiting people with the necessary digital skills in Eastbourne is troublesome, as young talent is often attracted to the glamour of Brighton and London lifestyles,” he said.

“We really want to get across the message that Eastbourne isn’t just a tourism destination, but a great place for people with families to live, work, and escape the rat race of the cities.”
