Police are investigating after thieves broke into a home and stole cash and jewellery.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says it is carrying out enquires into the burglary, which happened in Deadmans Ash Lane, Sarratt, between 1pm and 10pm on Sunday, June 28.

The force said thieves broke into an address through a ground-floor window and searched the property.

Cash and jewellery were then stolen from the home, police said.

Police are now appealing for information and witnesses.

Detective Constable Nicola Simons, from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, said: “We have already carried out extensive enquiries and we are now appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between the times stated.

“In particular we would like to hear from anyone who saw a white Ford Transit-style van on Deadmans Ash Lane around the time of the burglary.”
