Around 60 ducks have been rescued after they were discovered stranded on a motorway.

The fledgling ducks were spotted by concerned motorists yesterday (Sunday) on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 18 and 19 for Chorleywood.

When Hertfordshire Constabulary were alerted to the animals around 5.15pm, officers from the Three Rivers local policing unit, the RSPCA and Highways officers attended to rescue them.

After the ducks were brought to safety, they were released into Bury Lake in Rickmansworth.
