Drivers face delays and diversions for potentially two weeks due to gasworks.
Lower High Street will be closed to northbound traffic from Monday July 27 between Bushey Arches and Dalton Way, by B&Q.
Cadent is carrying out gas main replacement works which has resulted in a full closure for traffic heading into Watford from Oxhey and Bushey.
There is bit of uncertainty at the moment about how long the work will take.
It appears Cadent has a permit until August 7 but the diversion is currently listed to stay in place until August 10, according to One.Network.

Traffic in Lower High Street heading out of Watford will not be affected by this work.
Hertfordshire County Council has created a diversion route, which will be clearly signed for motorists.
The official diversion will take drivers via Eastbury Road, Wiggenhall Road and Merton Road, up to Rickmansworth Road, and then onto the ring road, and onto Waterfields Way.
Buses will also be on diversion.
Cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to use the section of road.
County councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst says he has asked the council to put up extra signage and warning signs and says he will be pressing for the work to be completed as quickly as possible.
