A man allegedly produced a gun during an argument that occurred between two people, police have said.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says it was called to a report that a man and woman were involved in an argument in Ainsdale Road, South Oxhey, just before 5.25pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 29)
Police say the man reportedly damaged a vehicle before producing a firearm.
The incident is being treated as an isolated case, police said.
Detective Sergeant Steve Boddy, from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, said: “We are currently in the process of determining the exact circumstances of this incident.
"We understand that news of this incident may cause concern within the community but we are treating it as an isolated case with no wider threat to the public.
“If you witnessed the altercation or you have any information you believe could assist police, please call 101 quoting 41/59871/20. Thank you.”
A 40-year old-man from the town has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody at this time.
