A teenager wishes to gift touching scrapbooks to families affected by Covid-19 to lift spirits.
Shaniah Howell, 18, from Walthamstow started the idea of creating hand-crafted memory books when she sought to make a meaningful gift for her best friend’s birthday last year.
Miss Howell created a personalised scrapbook with embellishments, decorations and a suited colour scheme for her friend as she could not afford to buy a gift.
Since then she launched Gift of Memories, a service which was mainly intended to create further scrapbooks for clients celebrating their birthdays.
But since the Covid-19 pandemic, Miss Howell is hoping to reach out to families affected by the virus so she can pay tribute to the lives lost with a memory book.
She said: “Although lock down has been hard not being able to meet up with friends, I am pleased that my books will be of use to those whose families were affected during Covid-19.”
