The number of new Covid-19 cases in Watford have risen again, Public Health England figures show.

Data shows that 17 new coronavirus cases have been identified in the town in the seven days up to August 9.

This is more than double the eight cases identified in the seven days up to August 4.

As of August 9, Watford ranked as having the 31st highest weekly rate of new cases out of more than 300 local authorities.

A total of 19 cases have been found in Watford in August, with nine cases recorded since August 8, including seven on August 8. 

The latest new cases rate (up to August 9) has returned to that of July 30 – 17.6.

The graph below shows how the coronavirus rates have fluctuated in Watford over the last month.

Government figures show in Three Rivers there were three new cases identified up until August 9, and in Hertsmere there were 10 new cases.

Meanwhile, West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust has not reported any coronavirus deaths since July 13, the latest daily data from NHS England shows.
