Police are on the hunt for an escaped prisoner who has links to Hertfordshire.

Thames Valley Police sent out an appeal on Sunday (September 6) to find Terry Mcdonagh, 28.

He is wanted on suspicion of escaping from custody after it was reported that he absconded from HMP Springhill, a category D men's prison in Buckinghamshire at around 5.35pm.

Officers said he was serving a sentence for Section 18 GBH with intent and dangerous driving.

He has connections to Abbots Langley in Hertfordshire, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire and Shepherd's Bush and WhiteCity in London.

Police described him as a white man, around 6ft tall, broad/heavy build, with dark brown shaved hair and blue eyes.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Justin Harris of CID based at Aylesbury police station, said: "We are appealing for information to trace Mcdonagh on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody.

"We would ask anyone with information as to his whereabouts, or anyone who might have seen someone matching his description to come forward."

Police said not to approach if you see him and instead call 999 quoting reference 43200279178.
